I’m Paul Sumich, a licensed salesperson with Ray White Bream Bay. Waipu is my kind of town. My favourite stop is Little Red Coffee, a converted shipping container that turns out a properly good cup, closely followed by the Pizza Barn up the road, which happens to be home to McLeod’s Brewery and is an easy place to lose an afternoon.
About Waipu
Waipu has a character the beach towns don’t. It’s a proper village, and a proud one. The Scottish heritage runs deep, and the annual Highland Games on New Year’s Eve are a genuine highlight, giving holidaymakers something they won’t see anywhere else. It sits just inland from Waipu Cove: close enough to the water, settled enough to feel like a real town.
It has most of the services you need day to day, and a village centre worth spending time in. The Pizza Barn and McLeod’s Brewery, Little ’Lato for gelato, and cafés and shops along the main street. Our own Ray White office is right here too, across the road from the Pizza Barn on Cove Road.
